About Our Practice

Get To Know Dr. Girgis

Dr. Mina Girgis was born in Athens, Greece and moved to Lakewood, California when he was young. He grew up spending time with his family here in Bellflower, where he is still active in the community today.

While studying General Biology at UC San Diego, Dr. Girgis volunteered at the free student-run dental health clinic as an assistant, and fell in love with dentistry. 

Inspired by the rewarding work of changing people’s lives one smile at a time, Dr. Girgis pursued his dental degree at Marquette University in Milwaukee. After finishing his DDS, he completed a general practice residency at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, where he gained specialized knowledge in the aesthetic and surgical aspects of dentistry.

Dr. Girgis wanted to start his own practice so he could develop great relationships with patients, and treat and make diagnoses that meet a higher standard of care. He spends time listening to his patient’s concerns and shares his expertise to encourage and equip each individual in his chair with honest guidance. Dr. Girgis makes dental anxiety a thing of the past and is honored to serve the community where he grew up.

Outside the office, Dr. Girgis plays basketball in a weekly basketball league, enjoys traveling to different countries, and enjoys exploring the local food scene and trying new restaurants with his wife.

Get To Know Dr. Yen Mai

Dr. Mai was born in Vietnam, but moved to southern California with her family when she was 6 years old. She grew up in Orange County, and attended college at the University of California San Diego where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. She later attended the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health where she earned her dental degree. After completing her dental education, she went on to practice at private dental offices in Bellflower and Cerritos. In her spare time, Dr. Mai enjoys trying new restaurants with her friends, recreating TikTok recipes with her husband, and cuddling with her cats. She also enjoys visiting national parks and watching sunsets by the beach.

My name is Rosie Rocha and I have been a registered dental assistant for 25 years. I’ve lived in Lakewood for over 18 years. I am married and have 4 beautiful children that keep me busy. I enjoy taking them to their sporting activities and staying involved in their school PTA. I look forward to greeting all our patients and helping them feel comfortable in the dental chair.

Check-in is conveniently streamlined through our office iPad, and you can relax with a refreshment from our beverage station before your appointment. 

We’ve outfitted our office with televisions and streaming services, and offer headphones, so while you’re in the chair, you can tune in as much or little as you’d like. After a thorough exam and cleaning, we will work together to develop a treatment plan that fits your needs, lifestyle, and goals.

As part of our commitment to holistic, modern dentistry, we use cutting-edge tools like digital x-rays and iTero intraoral scanners to get an in-depth, accurate look at your smile, helping us treat and diagnose with the utmost precision. 

Dr. Girgis and our team practice holistic dentistry, so we’re proud to use safe mercury amalgam removal techniques for fillings, Piezo tools for effective cleanings, and Ozone therapy to eliminate any harmful bacteria in your mouth. We have everything a modern dental office needs to keep our patients safe and comfortable.
